Maxus E Deliver 9 Dropside vs Vauxhall Movano-e Dropside

As of writing, there are six clean air zones in effect across the UK. Bath, Birmingham, Bradford, Bristol, Portsmouth and Tyneside have all introduced clean air zones of different classes, with Sheffield set to join in February 2023 and Greater Manchester beginning to review having one.

A clean air zone is a specific location that aims to reduce emissions by limiting higher-polluting vehicles from accessing it. This includes vehicles made before a certain year with old engines or engines that produce too many harmful emissions. Most newer vehicles are safe to drive through clean air zones without charges, along with electric vehicles.

Electric vehicles produce no emissions, so are great for the environment and will not result in any charges when driving through clean air zones. Vanaways has a great selection of electric vans on offer, including the Maxus E Deliver 9 Dropside and the Vauxhall Movano-e Dropside.

Vauxhall has committed to offering an electrified variant of its entire car and van range by 2024, being one of the very few brands that can offer this out to their companies. The Maxus E Deliver 9 is a fairly new vehicle, first released in 2019 as a diesel variant with the all-electric version coming soon afterwards.

Read on to find out more about both of these vehicles and decide which one will work best for you and your business.

Engines and Spec

The Movano-e Dropside is a powerful electric vehicle, boasting a 90kW motor that has either a 37kWh or 75kWh battery. This enables it to reach speeds of up to 75 miles per hour and produces 260 Nm of instant torque. These two battery options will provide a range of either 72 or 139 miles. While this isn’t the best range, the vehicle is ideal for urban city driving. It can charge very fast, going from 0-80% in about an hour and has a large maximum payload. Alternatively, the Maxus e-Deliver 9 is a powerful van that features a 160kW motor that is capable of producing 310 Nm of torque. There are three distinct battery pack variations: 52, 72 and 89 kWh. This can give an impressive payload of over 100 kg depending on which option you go for. You can also expect an impressive driving range of over 200 miles depending on the battery, making this a great option for long-haul driving if needed. With rapid charging points, it can take as little as 40-45 minutes to charge your electric van.

Interior

The Maxus e-Deliver 9 has a robust interior suited for a professional at work. It has a black plastic and chrome-effect trim, which is durable for the task at hand. The driver’s seat is comfortable and designed with long journeys in mind, with a built-in armrest and easy adjustment on the headrest. It also had a large 10-inch infotainment touchscreen, helpful for navigating, making calls and playing music or podcasts. Find out more about the interior in our full review.

You can expect plenty of storage and comfort if you’re driving the Vauxhall Movano-e Dropside. The main change between the diesel and electric versions is that you no longer have to worry about a gear stick. Instead, there is just a button to switch between drive, neutral and reverse. It has a 5-inch infotainment system with a built-in navigation system that includes real-time traffic information for the driver’s convenience.

The Verdict

Both vans are great for a professional seeking a new vehicle for their business. They are both great for urban driving, able to go around urban environments with ease without producing any emissions.
