Vanaways has announced a significant investment in its growing technology department, bringing together a team of engineers, developers and IT specialists focused on modernising the van buying experience and building the systems that will support the company’s next stage of growth. The newly expanded team combines a mix of technical expertise and fresh ideas, working collaboratively to develop internal systems, customer-facing platforms and innovative tools designed to streamline van sales.
The team is led by Jed Williams, Vanaways’ IT Manager, who joined the business just over three years ago. Jed quickly progressed into IT support before progressing into a leadership role where he now manages the company’s IT support operations. Working alongside him is Gio Posa, Lead Software Engineer. Gio is responsible for translating business goals into technical solutions and leading the development of new software systems. The development team also includes Tomas Meneses, a Software Engineer who works through development tasks, from maintaining and improving existing systems to helping build new internal tools that support Vanaways’ operations. Alfie Gormley, Software Engineer, is currently leading development work on the Finaways website. His focus is on improving the user experience, and ensuring the platform is structured in a way that performs well in modern search environments. Supporting the team’s day-to-day operations is Josh Brimble, IT Support Executive. Josh joined the company after completing work experience with Vanaways and now handles IT support across the business.
Together, the team forms the foundation of Vanaways’ growing in-house technology department.

Gio states,
“Software engineering at its core is about solving business problems using technology. Our role is to understand the challenges across the business, break them down, and build systems that make things more efficient.”
The technology team is currently working on a number of projects that will streamline the van buying process, improve communication between Vanaways, dealerships and customers, and reduce manual processes across the business.
One major development is the creation of a customer portal that will allow customers to track quotes, orders and updates in real time. By giving customers direct access to information about their purchase journey, the platform will help reduce the need for repeated calls and create a smoother overall experience. Internally, new tools are also being developed to automate processes and improve how data flows between systems, enabling the sales and customer service teams to work more efficiently.
Jed emphasised that,
“Our focus is always on making the experience easier for customers.”
One of the most exciting new projects currently in development is Vanaspec, a platform designed to make researching vans easier for customers. Today, buyers often have to visit multiple manufacturer websites to compare specifications between different models. Vanaspec aims to centralise that information into a single platform where users can browse specifications, view 360-degree imagery and compare multiple vans side-by-side.
“We’re not limited to one way of doing things,” explained Software Engineer Alfie. “For each project we can choose the tools that will deliver the best results, which gives us the freedom to build better systems.”
The department operates with a flexible development culture, allowing engineers to experiment with modern tools and technologies to find the best solutions for each project.
Vanaways’ investment in technology reflects a broader ambition to position the company as more than just a van broker. By combining strong marketing, industry data and innovative software development, the business is building a platform designed to modernise how vans are researched, purchased and financed.
“Technology is fundamental to where we’re going as a business,” said Jed. “By building these systems now, we’re making sure Vanaways stays ahead of the curve and continues to deliver the best possible experience for our customers.”
By combining industry expertise with innovative marketing and technology, Vanaways aims to make the process of finding and financing a van as simple and transparent as possible.
