Renault Master Luton Review

The Renault Master Luton at a glance

Vans are and always will be one of the most important vehicles in many trade industries which is of course why they are always evolving. Naturally, this evolution means that there is now a myriad of van shapes which all have their unique characteristics and strengths. Many of these different vans shapes are used for multiple different purposes and job roles so you must make sure you are choosing the right one for you. You’ll also have a lot of different van brands to choose from so you certainly have a lot to consider. A luton van is certainly one of the most popular but what actually is it and which job roles is it best for?

A luton van often uses the chassis of large payload vans however the body is usually much different from the original van. The rear of the vehicle often has a square box-like quality to it which rises above the driver’s cab. The benefit of this is the vans have far more storage space which means they are brilliant for roles such as delivery jobs or removals. These vans also usually have a storage space above the cab which is great for keeping more valuable items.

The Renault Master is one of the most iconic luton vans on the market in the UK and certainly has a brilliant reputation. So, what is so great about this van and why should you choose it over some of the other big names? Keep reading this blog to find out more!

Engines and Spec

When it comes to the roles that best suit luton vans such as delivery work and trade roles you will need an engine that is not only powerful but reliable too which means that it is incredibly important to choose the right vehicle. There are, of course, many modern vans that have incredibly well-reviewed engines but the Renault Master is certainly up there with the best. So, what are this van’s engine stats and why is it such a good example of modern engineering?

The 2.3-litre dCi turbodiesel engine which powers the master has been around for some time. In fact, the Master has used this engine since 2010 and it still has just as good a reputation as 13 years ago. As you might expect the engine has seen a fair few upgrades over the years and now it comes with six different power options which range from 130 hp with 330 Nm of torque right through to 180 hp with 400 Nm of torque. The most powerful of these options really is an incredible amount of horsepower and torque for a large payload van.

Interior

As you might expect with a modern van the interior of the Renault really is impeccable. Yes, there is plenty of storage with secure areas for your valuables and easy-to-access areas within the cab to keep your odd bits of paperwork or anything else you need in your day-to-day life. Though, one of the real strengths of this new van is the driving position. The visibility in the Master really is outstanding with little in the way of blind spots and great adjustability options. This benefit only strengthens the argument that the Renault Master Luton is the perfect vehicle for delivery services.

We can’t forget the actual luton storage area either. The rear of the van is unquestionably well-designed and can store a myriad of items within it. So, whether you run a removals firm and need the space to move large items around such as beds and cabinets, or you run a delivery firm this van won’t let you down.

Pros & Cons

As you might expect there are still a few negatives to mention that are important to consider if you’re thinking about the Master. Though, it must be said that this van is one of the most capable on the market and has a brilliant reputation.

Pros

  • Great payload statistics
  • Huge dealer network
  • Powerful engines

Cons

  • Fairly dated design
  • Average fuel economy
  • Lower quality ride
